Liquidity Terrain
The Liquidity Terrain renders a single market's recent microstructure as a live 3D landscape: time × price × size. It lives on the cockpit and the pair desk as a dormant tile — activate it on demand (it costs nothing while asleep) or pop it straight out to its own window.
Reading the terrain
- Ridges — traded volume accretes into terrain: each print raises the ground at its price and time. Height shades from dark floor through earth and scree to snow-white peaks.
- Walls — resting order-book depth stands as walls at the "now" edge. When resting size is pulled, the wall visibly collapses — you watch liquidity leave.
- Vacuum canyons — stretches with neither trades nor resting depth shade as voids. Thin ground is where price travels fast.
- Particles — live prints rain onto the surface as they happen, colored by aggressor side.
- Camera — the view tracks the live mid, so "now" stays centered while history recedes toward the horizon. The window covers roughly the last 20 minutes in 5-second bins, and the caption says exactly what it covers.
Click-to-price
Click any wall, ridge, or canyon to pick that price level: a sky-line marks it in the view, and the Launcher receives it as a prefill candidate — see Execution Algos. Picks snap to the terrain's bin resolution, never finer than the data.
Honesty chips
The panel captions its own limitations: the visible window, when history was seeded from coarse candles rather than live prints, trades dropped outside the price window, re-centering events, and — if the socket dies — the terrain freezes rather than animating on stale data.
Fallback
No WebGL, or prefer flat? A 2D heatmap + depth strip renders the same data from the same feed — the two views share one color ramp so they can never disagree.
